Description

This painting represents a meeting place, a place for community to come together.

It measures 50x 50cm including a 5cm white border

I would like to use this print to highlight a special community and the amazing work they do. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting and yarning with beautiful Aunty Ruth, Patricia and Jeanette of Miimi in Bowraville.

These women work tirelessly for their community. They do this for free, without funding, out of their own good will and beautiful nature. It's Women like these doing the hard work and looking after their community that deserve the spotlight.

50% off profit made on this print will be donated directly back to this community. Read more about Miimi below-

Aunty Ruth Walker along with founding jiinda’s (sisters) Rita and Florence Ballangarry established MiiMi Mothers in the late 1980's when they realised there was no support or help for Aboriginal women and families in Bowraville. With foresight, passion and energy they joined forces and encouraged the community to realise their dream of developing programs and bringing services into the community for women and their families.

Printed on 310gsm Canson Photographique Photo RAG with archival standard inks.

Professional framing recommended.

Please take care in handling your new print as the paper and canvas is very receptive to oils and moisture from skin. We recommend leaving the print rolled until framing. If you do need to open your print ensure your hands have been washed and dried thoroughly. Handle as little as possible. Avoid hanging in direct sunlight.

*All prints are rolled with care and shipped in a mailing tube unframed. Please allow 7-10 business days for your order to be processed and shipped. Framing is available upon request in the Newcastle/ Hunter Valley region. Allow 2-3 weeks for framed orders.
