Lauren is a contemporary Indigenous artist based in Newcastle NSW.
Lauren follows the artistic lead of her father Lee Freestone, a proud Wiradjuri man and artist based in Scotts Head NSW Gumbaynggirr country.
Although following in her father's footsteps, Lauren has developed her own contemporary style suitable for modern interiors whilst staying connected to her family and story.
Lauren's work is inspired by her love for nature and the beauty of Gumbaynngirr & Wiradjuri Country, which is where this love stems from.
Giving back is very important to Lauren. She has donated a number of artworks to community projects including NAIDOC week celebrations, fundraising in School, the Salvation Army, University of Newcastle Ikara Flinders Challenge and raising money for Indigenous scholarships alongside the GO Foundation.
