Lauren is a contemporary Indigenous artist based in Newcastle NSW.
Lauren follows the artistic lead of her father Lee Freestone, a proud Wiradjuri man and artist based in Scotts Head NSW Gumbaynggirr country.
Although following in her father's footsteps, Lauren has developed her own contemporary style while staying connected to her family and story.
Lauren's work is inspired by her love for nature and the beauty of Gumbaynggirr & Wiradjuri Country, which is where this love stems from.
Lauren has donated a number of artworks to community projects including NAIDOC week celebrations, fundraising in School, the Salvation Army, University of Newcastle Ikara Flinders Challenge, raising money for Indigenous scholarships alongside the GO Foundation and ongoing donations to Miimi mothers of Bowraville.
